To Whom It May Concern:
The students and campus of M.B. Lamar High School have benefited
extraordinarily from the skillful and consistent involvement of Anthony
Jackson and other staff members form the Palmer Drug Abuse Program
("PDAP"). The weekly meetings conducted by PDAP on Lamar's campus have
served to assist students in the recovery process, build beneficial
relationships among the student body, and educate students in matters
related to chemical dependency and substance abuse. Students enjoy
participating in the weekly meetings, and some have chosen to attend
meetings after graduation to serve as an encouragement to current
students struggling with substance related issues.
We have been pleased with the flexibility and professionalism of PDAP's
staff members and have heard many impactful stories from the parents of
students who attend meetings. The multiple year partnership between
PDAP and M.B. Lamar has been a great tool in offering our students a
sense of hope beyond substance abuse, and there has been definitive
impact to Lamar's campus since the introduction of PDAP. It is our hope
to continue our partnership with PDAP well into the future.
Sincerely,
Nathan J. Allen

To Whom It May Concern:
The Spring Satellite of PDAP has its own building on our campus, for
which Holy Comforter provides all utilities and ground
maintenance. Additionally, the youth and parent groups are
provided meeting space in our Education Building and Parish Hall on a
weekly basis.
It would be easy to point to these "in-kind" contributions as our
support for PDAP and let it go at that. However, our relationship
goes much deeper. Though certainly not required of them, PDAP
parents and youth often attend Holy Comforter parish events and
activities and often come to speak to our parishioners about what PDAP
is doing and how we can work together to help one another. We
continually remind ourselves that our respective missions are not
mutually exclusive, but mutually beneficial.
For my part, the benefit of PDAP to its clients, to our church family
and to the surrounding community cannot be overstated. In short,
we are blessed, not just to have them on our campus, but to have them
as a vital part of our parish family.
Sincerely,
(The Rev.) Steve Ferguson
Rector

Dear Ms. Keith,
Thank you for being a part of the Alief Learning Center Red Ribbon
Week, October 28, 2008. Your presenters were very informative and the
students were very attentive while they were speaking. In my opinion I
think that it was an eye-opener for a lot of the students to see that
they are not alone in some situations and that they can succeed in life.
Again I am most appreciative and I look forward to working with you
again.
Thank you,
Tricia L. Bledsoe

I am writing to let you
know how much I appreciate our partnership with
your Palmer Drug Abuse Program. Since October of 2007, we have
had the wonderful opportunity of having Ed Poole here to facilitate the
weekly PDAP group. It's been a pleasure to work with him.
Additionally, the students have responded well to him. He has
excellent information to share with our youth who have been quite
attentive and responsive in their group meetings.
Thank you,

Dear Ms. McMillan:
On behalf of
Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, I would
like to commend Cal Baker for the service he has provided at the
Alternative Learning Center the past 8 weeks. The educational
groups have been an asset to parents, staff, and student.
Laurie Snyder,
Principal at the A.L.C. has reported that the students
attending the educational group have stated, “This class has been more
motivational and informative than any treatment we have ever been
involved in”. At the close of the academic year Cal will have
influenced and resourced approximately 280 students.
The Alternative School
is an environment where
students are looking for “how to” in understanding treatment and
recovery. A critical component is to find the right counselor and
population to facilitate the change needed for drug recuperation.

Shawn:
On behalf of Bammel
Middle School, Spring ISD, we would like to thank
you for your generosity and kindness while participating in Red Ribbon
Week activities this past October. The bracelets, speaker, and
banner were all very well received and helped to bring drug abuse
awareness to our students in the hope that they will make the right
decisions in the future and steer clear of the dangers of doing drugs.
Even if only one
student gets the message, then we have accomplished
our goal. Hopefully, with your assistance, many more realize that
drugs are the wrong choice. It is our hope that, in future Red
Ribbon activities, you would again offer your services so we can
continue to reach even more students. Your participation is
greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,

Dear PDAP,
I
would
like to take this opportunity to thank you for your participation in
Spring Forest Middle School’s Red Ribbon Week Activities. Meeting with
each grade level individually made the process of signing Pledge to be
Drug Free cards more meaningful, so the fact that you came three days
in a row, and your flexibility and good humor during our blackout is
much appreciated. The students enjoyed the pledge and the wrist
bands, and were inspired by Jesse’s speech. I think you all had a big
impact on our students!
I hope you will be
available to join us next year!

On October 27, 2006
PDAP visited the intermediate campus of Beckendorf
Intermediate School to share their experiences with our sixth graders
during Red Ribbon Week. The director brought staff members and
participants to explain the rapid and dangerous spiral into drug and
alcohol abuse that can afflict a young student. The stories that
were shared were appropriate and relevant for a sixth grade
student. Rather than emphasize the drugs used, the speakers
shared the stressors, consequences and pain that result from a decision
to indulge in drugs and alcohol. The students were attentive
and asked several thoughtful questions.
Beckendorf Intermediate
School greatly benefited from the visit from the
Palmer Drug ABuse Program. It was a poignant end to our Red
Ribbon Week celebration. PDAP speakers would be a valuable
addition to our Red Ribbon Week next year as well.

I would like to than
you for the Red Ribbon Week Assembly that your
staff presented to Tomball Junior High students on October 27,
2006. The message was perfect for our Red Ribbon

students interested and engaged in the lesson. One of our goals
at Tomball Junior High is to create a safe and drug free
environment. THe assembly presented Oct. 27, will help us meet
that goal! We are grateful for the service you have provided
Tomball Junior High School!
